Acting Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Gent Cakaj has announced the news that the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania has made a decision to establish a special mission of the Republic of Albania in Kiev, Ukraine.
In a Facebook post, Acting Minister writes that the purpose of this draft decree is to help meet one of the main priorities of the rotating Albanian OSCE Chairmanship concerning the situation in and around Ukraine, as well as other prolonged conflicts, which the focus of this Organisation is on.
This decision, according to Cakaj, states Albania’s commitment to live up to its task of the 2020 OSCE Chairmanship.
‘In its capacity as Chair of the OSCE for 2020, Albania considers it to be of paramount importance to convey the message of the importance and attention Albania attaches to addressing the conflict in Ukraine with a view to resolving it, both to the Ukrainian party, and to the 56 participating States of the OSCE,’ Cakaj writes in his post.
