Albania will continue its efforts to restore the territorial integrity, sovereignty, independence and freedom of Ukraine, as well as to hold Russia responsible for the crimes committed in Ukraine.

This is what the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani, stated in the joint statement to the media with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, after their bilateral meeting.

Minister Hasani confirmed the inclusion of Albania in the working group for the realization of point 5 of the 10-Point Plan, for the establishment of a stable and realistic peace in Ukraine.

“Furthermore, Albania has prioritized addressing the situation in Ukraine and condemning Russian aggression in all international forums. Happy for the advancement of Ukraine on its pro-European path. We are ready to offer our experience so far in this process”, he stated.

Minister Kuleba expressed his gratitude for Albania’s continuous support to Ukraine, mainly during its two-year mandate in the United Nations Security Council.

“I wish Albania success and a faster integration into the European Union, which your country rightly deserves”, stated the Ukrainian Foreign Minister.

The two ministers confirmed their willingness to further strengthen bilateral relations, aiming to increase economic cooperation between the two countries, as well as the desire for the inauguration of the Embassy of Albania in Kiev in the upcoming months.

Minister Hasani and Minister Kuleba signed the “agreement on the gainful occupation of family members of diplomatic missions or consular posts”.

The main purpose of the agreement is to enable and facilitate the employment of family members of members of diplomatic missions or consular posts on the basis of reciprocity, in accordance with the legislation of both countries.

Minister Kuleba will participate at the Summit of the countries of Southeast Europe with Ukraine, which is held today in Tirana.
