Negotiations, Xhaçka at SEECP: Test of credibility and support for the regional cooperation

The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka, attended the meeting of Foreign Ministers and the South-East European Cooperation Process Summit (SEECP) held in Antalya, Turkey.

Minister Xhaçka praised the results achieved by the regional cooperation, emphasizing that the enlargement of the European Union has provided a very important impetus for the enhancement of this this cooperation.

“Very soon, the credibility of the EU will be tested with a view to its decision on the first Intergovernmental Conference for Albania and Northern Macedonia. It is an essential test not only for our two countries, but for the region as a whole and for regional cooperation in South-East Europe”, the Minister said during her speech.

She valued the contribution of the Turkish Presidency and the Regional Cooperation Council and the Secretary General, Majlinda Bregu, for advancing the regional agenda.

The Ministerial was followed today by the SEECP Summit and the chairmanship of the South-East European Cooperation Process passes from Turkey to Greece for the 2021–2022 term.
