Sweden, Hasani: Maximum attention for consular services for Albanian citizens worldwide

The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani, began his official visit to Sweden today. His first stop was the Embassy of the Republic of Albania in the Swedish capital, where he met with consular service employees and Albanian citizens who visited the consulate for consular services.

Over 71,000 consular services have been provided in the first six months of this year by the 44 diplomatic missions and consular posts of the Republic of Albania around the world. The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, in the context of improving and facilitating online consular procedures, is committed, in cooperation with AKSHI, to offering 13 online consular services, depending on the citizen’s request, these services can be completed in person or by mail, with the final document equipped with a QR code, which will be finalized in the citizen’s account on e-Albania under the “My Documents” section.

Efforts are also underway to implement online payment for those consular services that have a service fee. The implementation of these services will reduce the service delivery time from 1 to 5 business days.

On the first day of his visit to Sweden, Minister Hasani met with representatives of the local business community, where he highlighted that Albania has achieved an average economic growth of 5.7% per year over the last three years, exceeding initial forecasts each year. The interlocutors supported the promotion of stronger economic and trade ties and encouraged direct investments with Sweden. In this context, there are real potentials for increasing cooperation in fields such as energy, infrastructure, and tourism.
