As part of the activities regarding the 100th Anniversary of Independence, the Embassy of the republic of Albania in Tokyo has organized a presentation about Albania at the Kyobashi Tsukiji elementary school located near the embassy. The school was also celebrating its 20th anniversary, and this served as a great incentive, for not only the students but also for the teachers, to learn about the history and culture of Albania which is also regarded as mother Teresa’s birthplace.
Many students, teachers and ex-students were very interested in our country, which could be understood from the various student made Albanian flags that decorated the room. The students were curious about our language and quickly picked up some basic words, and were adept at using the Albanian word for gratitude “Faleminderid”.
In the end a group picture was taken together with the Embassy representatives where the students were wearing our traditional Hats and greeting us with the V sign.
