On the 3rd of April, Prime Minister Rama paid an official visit in Montenegro upon invitation of his counterpart, Prime Minister Dusko Marković.
On this occasion, the two Prime Ministers highlighted the very close neighborly relations between our two countries and the importance on further deepening relations in terms of bilateral and regional level as well as the common Euro-Atlantic perspective. Prime Minister Rama welcomed the agreement reached between the governing coalition parties in Montenegro, which includes the fulfillment of certain requirements of the Albanian population. In this context, he noted the increased sensitivity of the Montenegrin party for a serious and comprehensive review of the requirements of the Albanians in Montenegro, towards the fulfillment of their legitimate representative rights, economic and cultural rights, a better integration in the society, in accordance with the terms of this agreement.
The Prime Minister praised particularly the steps undertaken so far with the finalization of the spatial plan of Ulcinj Municipality and the adoption of legal amendments, for arranging the territory in function of opening the way for the establishment of Tuzi Municipality, as an independent municipality.
On the initiative of the two Prime Ministers, in October will be held a joint meeting of the two governments in Shkodra, aiming to strengthen and intensify bilateral relations, in order to improve the economic and social life of citizens of both countries, particularly through the concretization of cross-border projects, with a direct impact on sustainable development, economic growth and improving the lives of people on both sides of the border.
In the framework of this visit, Ministers of Foreign Affairs Ditmir Bushati and Srdan Darmanovic signed the Cooperation Agreement in the health field, which provides exchanges in the medical field, capacity strengthening and mutual expertise.
At the end of the meeting, Prime Minister Rama and Minister Bushati had a special meeting in the town of Ulcinj with representatives of the Albanian political factor in Montenegro. Interlocutors dwelt on the expectations of Albanians living in Montenegro regarding the fulfillment of their rights, cultural and economic development, as well as on the progress of bilateral projects in cross-border areas.
