The acting Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Gent Cakaj, is having a two-day official visit in Berlin. During his stay there, Cakaj met with the Chairman of the Committee on European Affairs of the Bundestag, Mr. Gunther Krichbaum.
Chief Diplomat Cakaj said via a Facebook post, that he informed Krichbaum in details about Albania’s progress in fulfilling the necessary obligations before the First Intergovernmental Conference, including the electoral reform, the fight against organized crime and corruption, as well as the establishment of SPAK and NBI.
Further, the interlocutors shared the same view on the importance of European Union enlargement in the Western Balkans.
“The German Presidency of the Council of the European Union must give a strong impetus to the visa liberalization process for Kosovo and the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia should end with mutual recognition.” – stressed Cakaj in his posting.
