The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ditmir Bushati held several meetings with counterparts at the Mediterranean Conference in Malaga, Spain, as well as with OSCE Secretary General, Thomas Greminger.
Minister Bushati met with Slovakia’s Foreign Minister, Miroslav Lajcak, whose country will take the Chairmanship of the OSCE in 2019, with Serbia’s Foreign Minister, Ivica Dacic, with Italy’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Guglielmo Picchi as the current CiO of OSCE. Officials discussed the current challenges faced by the OSCE and the need to address them in closer copperation.
Minister Bushati and Secretary Griminger discussed about the developments in the region and the challenges that need to be addressed by fully utilizing the organization’s potential.
In these meetings Minister Bushati exchanged views with his interlocutors on the OSCE’s values as a regional organization with a balanced system of political engagements, based on a comprehensive and collaborative security concept that provides a platform for overcoming security challenges.
