Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Ditmir Bushati attended the 54th session of the "Munich Security Conference". During the proceedings of this conference, Minister Bushati held a meeting with his Spanish counterpart, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Alfonso Dastis.

The high officials discussed the EU Enlargement Strategy and state of affairs in the Western Balkans as well as shared views about finding new instruments for deepening and revitalizing bilateral relations.

Minister Bushati expressed Albania's appreciation for the role of Spain in favor of EU enlargement policy, at the same time adding that its active involvement in the Western Balkans is much welcome. He stressed that Albania expects Spain's support regarding the opening of negotiations with the EU, highlighting the progress made in meeting the five priorities and especially the implementation of the justice reform.

Minister Bushati dwelt also on the recognition of Kosovo, underlining that its case has nothing in common with the case of Catalonia.

During the conference proceedings, Minister Bushati also held a meeting with Turkey's Foreign Minister Mevlut Çavuşoğlu. Ministers discussed bilateral issues, focusing on issues related to security in the region and beyond.

During the Munich Security Conference which  closed its proceedings today, Minister Bushati held a meeting with his Japan's counterpart, Taro Kono. The ministers discussed the good cooperation between the two countries as well as instruments and spaces for further strengthening and consolidating multilateral and in particular economic cooperation.

Minister Bushati informed his counterpart Kono about the opportunities that our country offers for investments to Japanese businesses.
