Foreign Minister Ditmir Bushati received today the Deputy Prime Minister of Macedonia in charge of the implementation of the Ohrid Framework Agreement, Festim Halili.

Minister Bushati and Deputy Prime Minister Halili discussed bilateral relations and ways of boosting cooperation between our two countries. They confirmed their mutual will to foster cooperation in the region, consolidate democracy and preserve stability.

Talks also focused on the implementation progress of the Ohrid Agreement. Minister Bushati underlined the need to accelerate the pace towards its full implementation. He noted that the implementation of the Ohrid Agreement in letter and in spirit is necessary for the preservation of stability and social cohesion in Macedonia, promotion of democratic values, strengthening of regional security and the country’s progress in the integration process of Euro-Atlantic structures.

Minister Bushati highlighted Albania's commitment and support for Macedonia's integration into Euro-Atlantic structures. Dwelling on the latest developments in Macedonia, he praised the will of its political parties to reach an agreement on setting a date for early elections. Moreover, he praised the constructive role of the Albanian factor in overcoming the crisis and cooperation with the international community.

Deputy Prime Minister Halili welcomed Albania's support for Macedonia's integration integration and regional cooperation. He praised the current level of bilateral relations and the mutual interest in further boosting bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
