Minister Bushati holds meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan

During his visit to Turkey, Foreign Minister Ditmir Bushati was received by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Interlocutors praised the work carried out to boost cooperation in all areas of mutual interest and the commitment for the consolidation of the strategic partnership. They underlined the special importance of bilateral relations as two friendly countries, strategic partners in the region and NATO allies.

Minister Bushati and President Erdoğan highlighted the importance of enhancing cooperation in the fields of infrastructure, energy, agriculture and tourism, which have a direct impact on the economy. Moreover, they dwelt on ways to encourage cooperation in the defense and security sector. President Erdoğan reiterated Turkey's unwavering support for strengthening bilateral relations through concrete projects in the framework of Turkey's commitments in the region.  

Parties also discussed the latest developments in their respective countries and the situation in the region. Minister Bushati expressed full solidarity and support to the Turkish people and government regarding the commitment to restore constitutional order in the country.

Minister Bushati expressed the interest of the Albanian Government to continue with the positive trend of increasing Turkish investments in our country, assuring that Albania offers a secure climate for encouraging Turkish investments, through a completed legal framework which guarantees their success. They also discussed the role, contribution and needs of the Albanian community in Turkey, both the old and the new, as evidence of the traditional ties between our countries.
