Brussels/Tirana, 18 April 2016 - The Parliament of Albania will host the NATO Parliamentary Assembly's Spring Session from Friday 27 to Monday 30 May 2016. The Session will bring together in Tirana some 260 parliamentarians from the 28 NATO member countries from North America and Europe as well as delegates from partner countries and observers to discuss current international security issues and the reports prepared by the Assembly’s Committees. |
Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 May will be devoted to the meetings of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly’s five Committees: Political, Defence and Security, Science and Technology, Civil Dimension of Security and Economics and Security. Each Committee will be addressed by speakers from government, academia, NGO’s and NATO. The Plenary Session on Monday 30 May will be addressed by Hon. Michael Turner, President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, Ilir Meta, Speaker of the Albanian Parliament, Edi Rama, Prime Minister of Albania, Ambassador Alexander Vershbow, Deputy Secretary General of NATO and Milo Dukanovic, Prime Minister of Montenegro. All the above mentioned meetings are open to the press. |
