In the course of his visit to the USA, Acting Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Gent Cakaj held a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs for North Macedonia, Nikola Dimitrov, in the premises of the Embassy of the Republic of Albania in Washington.
This meeting revolved around the efforts put forth by the European Union Member States to launch negotiations, as well as the cooperation between our two countries in areas of common and mutual interest.
Given the desire to help advance the bilateral cultural relations, at the end of the meeting, Acting Minister Cakaj and his counterpart Dimitrov signed the agreement between the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania and the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia on the setting up of Cultural and Information Centres in the Republic of Albania and Cultural and Information Centres in the Republic of North Macedonia.
By virtue of such agreement, Albania and North Macedonia undertake to intensify cultural relations between our two countries, and promote the best respective values in the fields of art and science, as well as prepare and distribute information bulletins on the events hosted by the Cultural and Information Centres, including use of contemporary communications technologies.
