Acting Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Gent Cakaj, held a meeting with the Speaker of the Parliament of North Macedonia, Mr. Talat Xhaferi. Minister Cakaj praised the valuable contribution of the Speaker Xhaferi in finalizing the Prespa Agreement upon adoption of constitutional changes.
“North Macedonia’s accession to NATO and the common road to the EU is an added value for the region’s development and especially for the cultivation of peace and stability,” said Cakaj.
The Speaker of the Parliament Xhaferi expressed his gratitude for the support that Albania has given to this process, being also one of the first countries to ratify North Macedonia’s Accession Protocol to NATO.
Both interlocutors emphasized the importance of intensifying bilateral, regional cooperation, and in particular the fulfillment of the reforms and the necessary tasks for obtaining the date of the start of negotiations with the EU.
