The Vjosa river in Albania, one of the view fully free-flowing rivers left in Europe runs 270 kilometers from the forest-covered slopes of Greece`s Pindus mountains to Albania’s Adriatic coast. Plans to protect this amazing river are currently being prepared. The Albanian government committed on June to establishing a National Park dedicated to the Vjosa which eill be the first in europe to rise to the status of a national park. Declaring the Vjosa River a future national park is a move aimed at preserving the last wild river in Europe free from embankments and dams.
