At the invitation of President Rumen Radev and King Abdullah II of Jordan, President of the Republic of Albania H.E. Bajram Begaj participated at the “Aqaba Process Balkan III”, 3-4 April in Sofia, for security in the region, a commitment built on the values of cooperation, respect and strategic vision.
Albania, believing in the power of dialogue and cooperation, is committed to long-term peace and security.
As an active participant in the Global Alliance and counter-terrorism platforms, Albania has become a model of regional expertise and a success story, with its comprehensive strategy against terrorism and violent extremism.
The Aqaba Process for the Balkans III Forum follows previous meetings on the topic held under the initiative – in Aqaba, Jordan in 2016, and in Tirana, Albania in 2018.
Leaders from Southeastern Europe, along with representatives from governments, institutions, and Aqaba Process partners, analyzed this time in Sofia, the security architecture of the Balkans, discussed regional information-sharing mechanisms, and coordinated efforts to combating illegal migration, terrorism, radicalization, and extremism.
