Yesterday at the Bulgarian Cultural Center, Dr. Spas Tashev presented his book “Bulgarians in Albania and Kosovo. Socio-political processes and demographic consequences (1913-2023)”.
The book was published by the Agency for Bulgarians Abroad and deals with the socio-political processes taking place among the Bulgarian communities in Albania and Kosovo from 1913 to the present day, tracing how this has influenced their demographic development and territorial distribution.
Vice-President, Ms. Iliyana Yotova, during her welcoming speech, referring to the latest reports of the European Commission regarding the human rights and rights of minorities, congratulated the Albanian authorities for continuing good relations with regard to minority rights since 2017.
She wished Albania to successfully conclude the accession negotiations with EU in order to be part of the European family as soon as possible.
Ms. Yotova, during her conversation with Ambassador Milo, at the end of the book presentation, praised Albania for recognizing the Bulgarian minority and for the correct conduct of the 2023 census.
Ambassador Milo, for her part, emphasized that our constitution recognizes the rights and freedoms of all minorities, including the Bulgarian one. Minorities contribute to the cultural diversity of Albanian society and are a bridge of communication between countries.
