The Ambassador of Albania Inid Milo had the pleasure of attending the EVA Golden Apple Awards in Sofia, an elegant evening dedicated to celebrating outstanding women who shape Bulgaria’s cultural and public life with talent and vision.
Among the distinguished personalities honoured was writer Rene Karabash, whose remarkable novel She Who Remains (Burrnesha) creates a profound cultural dialogue with Albania.
The novel’s international recognition, including its shortlisting for the International Booker Prize in 2026, highlights the universal resonance of this deeply Albanian story.
The awards also recognized some of Bulgaria’s most renowned artists, including the beloved actress Katerina Evro, whose family roots reflect the long-standing human and cultural ties connecting Albania and Bulgaria.
Events such as these reaffirm that culture remains one of the strongest bridges between nations.
