Over the last two days, Sofia was the destination of two important Albanian high-level visits: H.E. President Bajram Begaj and H.E. Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Ferit Hoxha.
The substance and intensity of these engagements reflect the excellent state of relations between Albania and Bulgaria.
Across meetings with PM Rumen Radev, FM Velislava Petrova, the President of the National Assembly, as well as through participation in the SEECP Summit and Ministerial Meeting/discussions on the future of EU enlargement, several common messages emerged:
Albania and Bulgaria enjoy a relationship founded on friendship and mutual respect.
Bulgaria remains a strong and valued supporter of Albania’s European integration path, as Albania advances through the most decisive phase of its EU accession process.
Both countries see enhanced connectivity, energy cooperation, infrastructure development, tourism, and economic exchange as key pillars of future cooperation, with Corridor VIII standing out as a strategic project linking the Adriatic and Black Sea regions.
