On November 20, 2025, the official ceremony for the raising of the Albanian flag was held at Ottawa City Hall, on the occasion of the 113th anniversary of Albania’s Independence. The event was addressed by the Ambassador of Albania to Canada, Ms. Artemis Malo, and the Mayor of Ottawa, Mr. Mark Sutcliffe. Also in attendance were the Ambassador of Kosovo, Mr. Adriatik Kryeziu, the Ambassador of North Macedonia, Mr. Agron Buxhaku, diplomatic representatives, and members of the Albanian-Canadian community, honoring an important date in Albania’s history and national identity, while highlighting the enduring friendship and cooperation between Albania and Canada.
