On November 28, 2025, the city of Windsor hosted the first official ceremony of raising the flag of the Republic of Albania, in celebration of Independence Day. The event gathered Canadian institutional representatives, Albanian and Kosovar diplomats, as well as members of the Albanian-Canadian community. Ambassador Artemis Malo praised the contribution of the Albanian community and emphasized the significance of this historic moment, highlighting the affirmation of the Albanian identity. Mr. Angelo Marignani, Windsor City Councillor, stressed the importance of the event for the multicultural mosaic of the city and the local authorities’ commitment to continuing collaboration with the Albanian-Canadian community. This event strengthened the ties between the community and Canadian institutions.
