On December 12, 2025, the Air Transport Cooperation Agreement between the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania and the Government of Canada was officially signed.

The Agreement was signed by H.E. Ms. Artemis Malo, Ambassador of the Republic of Albania to Canada, and Ms. Sarah Phillips, Acting Chief Negotiator of the Government of Canada for air transport cooperation.

This Agreement establishes the legal and institutional framework for the launch and operation of direct air services between the Republic of Albania and Canada, representing an important step in strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.

The signing marks the conclusion of a lengthy process of consultations and inter-institutional cooperation between the two governments and is expected to significantly facilitate the movement of citizens, support the Albanian diaspora in Canada, and promote tourism, academic, and cultural exchanges.
