Ambassador Artemis Malo participated in the launch event for Ottawa’s 2025 Welcome Week (WOW), organized by Mr. Mark Sutcliffe, Mayor of the City of Ottawa, and the Ottawa Local Immigration Partnership (OLIP).

During this morning reception, discussions focused on the importance of the city’s welcoming capacities during a challenging economic and political period, as well as the role Ottawa plays as a host city for those coming from diverse cultural backgrounds.

One of the highlights of the event was the participation of distinguished speakers who discussed the theme “Ottawa – The Canada We Want” and the challenges faced by the city and the country in the current global context.

The event concluded with the Annual Ottawa Ambassador of Welcome Awards Ceremony for 2025, which honors individuals and organizations that contribute to hospitality and strengthening international ties.

WOW 2025 served as an opportunity to highlight the city’s role in promoting cultural diversity and supporting immigration, further strengthening Ottawa’s position as a tolerant and inclusive city.
