Dear representative of media,
Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Albania will hold the National Folklore Festival in Gjirokastër from 24 June to 1 July 2023.
This June, Gjirokastër will welcome artists and artist groups from the 12 regions of the country, as well as from Kosovo, North Macedonia, Montenegro, etc. Folk music groups and performers from Italy’s Arbëresh community and groups from Greece will also take the stage at the historic stone city.
The purpose of the festival is to convey the most beautiful and diverse values of the cultural, ethno-musical, ethnographic heritage.
The Gjirokastër National Folklore Festival is one of Albania’s most important cultural even, showcasing Albanian music, choreography, ethnography created over the centuries.
During the Festival days, a series of other events will take place in the city and beyond with the purpose of the promotion of culture, tourism, culinary tradition, as well as other activities organized by the Ministry of Culture and Albanian government.
Media accreditation will open from 1 to 20 June 2023.
Media interested in providing coverage of the activity can be accredited by sending an e-mail to ffkombetar@gmail.com containing personal information (Name, Surname, Photo, and badge of the media they represent) and also disclose exact duration of their stay and their day of arrival.
The Ministry of Culture, as the Festival’s organizer, will arrange accommodation and transport of the media from Tirana to Gjirokastër.
A media center will be made available to journalists in Gjirokastër to be used as a workplace, equipped with internet connection (WIFI and cable).
