On November 28, 2025, the flag-raising ceremony of the Albanian national flag was held at the City Hall of Kitchener-Waterloo, followed by a festive evening organized by the “Bashkimi Kombëtar” association to commemorate the 113th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Albania. The event was attended by Mrs. Artemis Malo, the Ambassador of the Republic of Albania, and Mrs. Bardish Chagger, Member of Parliament for Kitchener-Waterloo. Ambassador Malo was accompanied by Mrs. Elisabeta Frroku, Second Secretary of the Embassy.

In her welcoming speech, Ambassador Malo emphasized the importance of preserving Albanian national identity and heritage, highlighting the key role of the Albanian-Canadian community in strengthening cultural and institutional ties between Canada and Albania. On the other hand, MP Chagger expressed her gratitude to the Albanian-Canadian community for its continued contribution to the cultural and social life of Kitchener-Waterloo, stressing that the participation and activities of this community enrich the city’s multicultural mosaic and strengthen the connections between the community and local institutions.
