On the occasion of the 111th anniversary of Albania’s Independence, the Embassy organized the official reception in Ottawa with the presence of members of the Government of Canada, senators, members of parliament, heads of diplomatic missions, colleagues from the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development of Canada, including the Assistant Deputy Minister for Europe, the Middle East and the Maghreb and Canada’s Chief of Protocol, senior level officials from several Departments, friends of Albania and members of the Albanian-Canadian community.
In his welcoming speech, Ambassador Ermal Muça, among others, focused on Albania’s achievements and the impact of high-level exchanges on bilateral and multilateral cooperation with Canada.
Ahmed Hussen, Canadian Minister of International Development, conveyed congratulatory messages and greetings on behalf of the Government of Canada, during which he appreciated the development of relations and partnership between Albania and Canada. Calling Albania a key partner of Canada in the region, Hussen emphasized that Canada, as a close partner of the EU, fully supports Albania’s membership in the EU.
During the reception, Mrs. Entela Galanxhi, Mrs. Mara Çako and Mr. Qazim Kallushi, Albanian-Canadian musicians from Toronto, performed works by Albanian and foreign composers.
