On September 9, 2024, Ambassador Sami Shiba held a meeting with the Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Emigrants, for Eastern and Southern Europe, Arab Republic of Egypt, Ambassador Tarek Khalil. During the meeting, after the discussion on the progress of relations and cooperation between the two countries, Ambassador Khalil stated that I requested the meeting, first to present the request of Egypt for Albania’s support for the draft resolution entitled: “Application of IAFA Safeguards in the Middle East”, submitted by Egypt to the 68^th Session of the General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Vienna, 16-20 September 2024, and secondly, to inform about the visits that the Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Emigrants, Ambassador Badr Abdelatty, is expected to make in the Balkan countries, according to him, starting with the visit to Albania.
