On September 12, 2024, Governor of Alexandria, Arab Republic of Egypt, Vice Admiral, Mr. Ahmed Khaled Hassan Said, received Ambassador of the Republic of Albania Sami Shiba. During the meeting, they discussed about the potential of cooperation between Tirana and Alexandria, especially regarding the cooperation Tirana – Alexandria for the title “Tirana and Alexandria Mediterranean Capitals of Culture and Dialogue 2025”, and, in this context, for the visit of the Mayor of Tirana, Mr. Erjon Veliaj, to Alexandria, as soon as possible, the visit of Governor of Alexandria, Vice Admiral, Mr. Ahmed Khaled Hassan Said, to Tirana, where in principle we can do the official launch of the double title, with a dignified ceremony in Tirana, as well as about the planning/preparing a plan of joint projects between the two cities in the field of culture and dialogue.
