19th cycle of the Human Rights Council
Mr. President
I would like to express my sincere appreciation to you, Ambassador Zniber and to the vice presidents, for their work and efforts to raise the effectiveness of the HRC. We are very grateful for your efforts to establish the Advisory Board on Gender Equality.
Let me extend my sincere congratulations to the Ambassador Lauber for the election as the President of the Human Rights Council for the year 2025 and to the new vice presidents elected today. Albania will remain very committed to the shared goals and agenda of Human Rights Council, while cooperating intensively with you and other colleagues.
As a member of the Human Rights Council (2024-2026), we are looking forward to advancing the Council’s Agenda for the promotion and protection of the human rights and more specifically for the promotion of gender equality, the empowerment of women, children rights and the protection of the rights against discrimination.
Albania remains committed to closely cooperating with you, Ambassador Lauber, with new members of the Buro, the Office of High Commissioner and other UN human rights mechanisms to advance the promotion and protection of human rights.
I wish Your Excellency, Ambassador Lauber success in your chairmanship.
