The United Nations Human Rights Council elected the new President of the United Nations Human Rights Council, Ambassador of Switzerland Mr. Jurg Lauber, for the year 2025.

 

The HRC elected three Vice-Presidents of the Council: the Ambassadors of Congo, Bangladesh and Romania.

 

In her statement, the Ambassador of Albania in Geneva, Ms. Vasilika Hysi, expressed her gratitude to the President of the Council, Ambassador Omar Zniber, to the Vice-Presidents and Co-Facilitators, for their commitment to increasing the effectiveness of the Council and promoting the protection of human rights.

 

Ambassador Hysi expressed her best wishes to the new President of the Council and the newly elected Vice-Presidents.

 

Albania, as a member of the Council, will continue to work closely with the new team.
