From August 26-30, 2024, the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Albania in Geneva and representatives from the Ministry of Defence participated in the 2nd meeting of the Group of Governmental Experts on LAWS under the CCW.

Discussions focused on:

• Creating a binding instrument for LAWS
• Ensuring compliance with International Humanitarian Law
• Mitigating risks through rigorous testing & safety mechanisms

The insights shared will be key in shaping the regulatory framework and international cooperation on LAWS.
