Mr. President,
Distinguished representatives of member and observer states,
As we wrap up this important session, I want to take a moment on behalf of the Albanian delegation to express our sincere gratitude to all the States represented here today for their active participation, insightful comments, and constructive recommendations.
Your engagement is invaluable to our discussions and plays a crucial role in shaping our collective efforts.
My colleagues tried to provide thorough responses to as many issues as possible raised during this session, but rest assured that we have attentively considered all feedback, including the comments that we were unable to address and discuss due to time restrains. We recognize the significance of your contributions and remain committed to reviewing each recommendation as we move forward.
In my opening remarks, I spoke about the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) and its critical role in helping us promote, protect and uphold human rights. This process is not just about holding each other accountable; it’s about fostering genuine dialogue and self-reflection.
Engaging with the recommendations presented here is an essential part of our commitment to continuous improvement. We recognize that constructive feedback is vital for progress, and we are eager to consider all suggestions thoughtfully. We believe that through this collaborative effort, we can make meaningful strides in enhancing the human rights landscape in our country.
I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to the UPR Secretariat and the Troika for their hard work and dedication in preparing the report for this session. Your efforts are crucial in guiding our discussions, and we deeply appreciate the support you provide in this important endeavour.
We are looking forward to reporting back on our positions and the actions we will take in response to your recommendations in the next UPR cycle.
I would like to also express my gratitude to civil society and the NGOs that submitted reports. Their feedback is vital to our efforts to uphold human rights.
As we move forward, Albania remains willing to collaborate closely with these organizations, to ensure that the UPR recommendations are not just words on paper, but actionable steps toward real change.
Mr. President,
Excellencies,
In conclusion, I want to reaffirm Albania’s unwavering commitment to human rights. This commitment goes far beyond mere compliance; it reflects our profound belief in the inherent dignity and worth of every individual. We recognize that human rights are not just legal obligations, but moral imperatives that guide our actions and shape our society.
The discussions we’ve had during this session inspire us to strive for excellence and to take meaningful, actionable steps toward addressing the challenges we face. Each recommendation and perspective shared here serves as a reminder of our collective responsibility to promote and protect the rights of all individuals.
As we move forward, I encourage us all to remain engaged and committed. Let us work collaboratively to ensure that human rights are not just lofty ideals, but tangible realities experienced by everyone in our communities. Together, we can foster a culture of respect, inclusion, and justice that empowers every individual to thrive.
Thank you once again for the opportunity to speak today and I look forward to our collaborative endeavours in forging a future where human rights are not only upheld, but embraced by all.
