Tirana, November 5, 2024 – The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani, participated in the conference “Women, Peace, Security,” where the essential role of women and girls in decision-making processes for peace and security was discussed.
Minister Hasani underlined Albania’s commitment to the agenda on women, peace and security, and the advancement of women’s rights in decision-making.
“If our goal is to achieve a safer and more just future, then we must put women’s empowerment and the protection of their rights at the center of peace and security efforts. For this, concrete actions and a comprehensive commitment are needed so that women are part of decision-making processes and their voices are heard and valued. This is a matter of justice, equality and peace – with a direct impact on our common future”, underlined Minister Hasani.
The activity, organized by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, in cooperation with the United Nations Agency, UN Women Albania, coincided with the 25th anniversary of Resolution 1325 of the UN Security Council.
