On November 8, 2024,i Geneva,  the meeting of the Working Group for Universal Periodic Review took place for the approval of Albania’s report.

Ambassador Mrs. Hysi, on behalf of Albania, expressed gratitude for the Troika composed of the Missions of Bulgaria, Ghana and Japan, for the Secretariat, and the services of translators.

Albania thanked the Member States for their sincere engagement during the review of Albania’s UPR and the recommendations made. It reiterated Albania’s commitment to consider every recommendation of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) as a mechanism whose main role remains the assistance, promotion and protection of human rights. For Albania, this process is not only about holding everyone accountable, but also about encouraging dialogue and real analysis.

Recognition of the progress made by Albania on human rights since our third UPR cycle in May 2019 is appreciated. Albania remains committed to continuing to cooperate with all international human rights mechanisms, including the UPR, and to honor its obligations to protect, respect and fulfill all human rights.
