United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE)
EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
137th meeting
Albania welcomes the report presented by the vice-chair of the Conference of European Statisticians (CES) and expresses its appreciation for the ongoing efforts to advance the programme of work and strategic priorities in the region. We thank the UNECE Statistics Division for its essential role in facilitating coordination and promoting official statistics for evidence-based policymaking.
The approval of the Statistical Programme 2025 is a significant milestone. Albania acknowledges the contributions of the CES Teams of Specialists, whose terms of reference have been submitted for formal endorsement by EXCOM. In our view, these teams play a critical role in addressing emerging statistical challenges and ensuring alignment with international standards and our delegation has continuously contributed to several working groups and task forces.
We particularly recognize the importance of strengthening interlinkages between statistical and geospatial communities. The development of interoperability methodologies for integrating statistics, data, and geography is vital for improving the relevance and accessibility of statistical products and, in this regard, Albania supports the proposal to secure additional resources for this purpose.
Concluding, Albania supports the decisions presented and reiterates its commitment to contributing to the collective goals of the statistical community. We also thank UNECE for its dedication to fostering collaboration and innovation in official statistics.
I thank you!
