The Minister of Economy and Innovation of the Republic of Albania, H.E. Ms. Delina Ibrahimaj, paid an official visit to the Republic of Indonesia, marking the first ministerial-level visit from Albania since the opening of the Embassy of the Republic of Albania in Jakarta earlier this year.
The visit represented an important milestone in the growing relations between Albania and Indonesia and reflected Albania’s commitment to strengthening its engagement with Indonesia and the wider Southeast Asian region. During her visit, Minister Ibrahimaj held a series of high-level engagements aimed at advancing bilateral cooperation in the fields of labour mobility, investment, and economic development.
A key highlight of the visit was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Economy and Innovation of the Republic of Albania and the Ministry for the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (KP2MI) of the Republic of Indonesia. The MoU establishes a framework for cooperation in employment and labour mobility, opening new opportunities for collaboration while promoting safe, orderly, and mutually beneficial labour migration between the two countries.
Minister Ibrahimaj also held a courtesy meeting with the Minister of Investment and Downstreaming of the Republic of Indonesia, H.E. Mr. Rosan Roeslani. The discussion focused on opportunities to enhance economic relations, promote investment flows, and strengthen business cooperation between Albania and Indonesia. Both sides exchanged views on the potential for collaboration in sectors of mutual interest and reaffirmed the importance of closer economic engagement.
The visit also provided an opportunity to highlight Albania’s economic potential, favourable investment climate, and strategic location as a gateway to regional markets in Southeast Europe. Discussions emphasized the importance of fostering stronger connections between the public and private sectors of both countries and encouraging greater exchanges between business communities.
The official visit of Minister Ibrahimaj underscored the growing momentum in Albania–Indonesia relations and reaffirmed the shared commitment of both countries to expanding cooperation across a wide range of sectors. It also reflected Albania’s determination to build stronger partnerships in Southeast Asia and to contribute to deeper ties between the two nations.
