On the 45th anniversary of the re-establishment of diplomatic relations between Albania and Japan, we celebrate a partnership grounded in our shared commitment to democracy, the rule of law, and a rules-based international order.
Over the decades, our ties have deepened through sustained political dialogue, active parliamentary exchanges, and growing cooperation across many sectors. The visit of Prime Minister Edi Rama to Japan in 2023 marked an important milestone, opening a new chapter in our political, economic, social, and cultural engagement.
As Albania advances its economic diplomacy, we look forward to strengthening trade, investment, and business partnerships with Japan.
We also highly value Japan’s technical assistance through the Japan International Cooperation Agency and its contributions under the Western Balkans Cooperation Initiative, supporting regional development, connectivity, sustainable growth, and Albania’s progress toward European integration.
