President of the Republic of Albania, Bajram Begaj, attended the “Welcome to the Albanian Alps – Vuthaj 2026” cultural festival in Vuthaj on August 1. The event was held in a festive atmosphere, bringing together representatives of the Albanian community and guests from Albania and the diaspora, with a focus on the traditions, culture, and heritage of the region.
During his visit, President Begaj met with representatives of the Albanian community and local residents, praising their role in preserving the Albanian language, culture, and national identity. In his remarks, President Begaj emphasized the importance of maintaining the historical and human ties with Albanians in Montenegro, as well as strengthening cooperation between institutions and Albanian communities on both sides of the border.
As part of the festival, President Begaj was honored with the “Pride of the Albanian Alps” award, in recognition of his contribution and support for the Albanian community in Montenegro. The President’s participation in Vuthaj conveyed a strong message about the importance of preserving cultural heritage and Albanian identity, while the festival served as an occasion to bring people together and promote the values and traditions of the region.
