The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani, is traveling today from India to Geneva, where the High-Level meeting of the 55th Session of the Human Rights Council (HRC) will be held on February 26-27.
Our country participates in the meeting as a member country of the HRC with a 3-year mandate from 2024 to 2026.
It is the second time that, within a period of less than 10 years, Albania has become part of this important UN body that deals with issues of protection and respect for human rights.
During his stay in Geneva, Minister Hasani will be received by the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, and he will meet the Albanian staff working for the UN in Geneva, and with the team of the Mission of the Republic of Albania.
Minister Hasani will deliver his message on behalf of Albania at a special meeting of the Group of Friends of Accountability following the aggression against Ukraine.
