Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Albania to the Republic of North Macedonia
Denion Meidani is a distinguished diplomat with a long and rich experience in public service, currently in the post of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Albania in North Macedonia. After a long and varied career, he returns to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, bringing with him extensive experience in various fields such as the fight against violent extremism, customs administration, monitoring of electronic communications, and other law-enforcement bodies. implementing.
His studies include a degree in Computer Science and International Relations from Clark University, USA, completed in 2001.
In 2002, he completed a Masters in Diplomacy, with a focus on International Economics, from the Mediterranean Academy of Diplomatic Studies at the University of Malta .
In March 2013, he completed a Master of Science in Business Administration from Bocconi University in Milan, Italy.
Denion Meidani has held important roles in public administration, including the position of Director General of the Coordination Center against Violent Extremism from 2022 to January 2024, where he led national programs for de-radicalization, early warning systems and new integration of affected individuals.
Prior to that, from 2021 to 2022, he served as Deputy Director General at the General Directorate of Customs, where he oversaw customs procedures and the administration of excise goods. With experience in monitoring and controlling electronic communications and law enforcement within the prison system, Denion Meidani has played a key role in the reforms of various public sectors.
He has also served as an advisor in senior positions in both the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the General Prosecutor’s Office.
In addition to engagement in the public sector, Denion Meidani has also contributed to the private and academic sectors. He speaks fluent Albanian, English, Italian and Turkish.
