Today, I had the pleasure of welcoming, in a first meeting, the newly appointed Ambassador of Türkiye to Albania, H.E. Barış Erciyes.  We reaffirmed the strategic partnership and the longstanding, excellent relations between Albania and Türkiye, grounded in mutual respect, trust, and close cooperation, as well as in our shared historical and cultural ties and aligned interests as NATO Allies.

Our discussions focused on further strengthening bilateral cooperation to unlock the untapped potential across key sectors, including security and defence, infrastructure, tourism, education, and economic development. We also explored ways to expand trade and investment, building on the strong and dynamic presence of Turkish businesses in Albania.

We emphasized the importance of sustained and coordinated efforts to promote stability, security, and cooperation in the Western Balkans and beyond. I look forward to working closely with Ambassador Erciyes to further deepen our partnership and advance our shared priorities.
