Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ferit Hoxha, participated in the MED9++ virtual ministerial meeting on food security and access to chemical fertilizers.

Delighted to participate and represent Albania at the MED9++ VTC ministerial meeting on food security and access to fertilizers. Alongside more than 40 countries and co-chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Italy, Mr. Antonio Tajani and Foreign Minister of Croatia, Mr. Gordan Grlić Radman, the meeting discussed the urgent need for enhanced international coordination to safeguard fertilizer supply chains, strengthen food security, and help prevent a global food crisis.

Such challenges cannot be addressed in isolation; they require a coordinated, comprehensive, and forward-looking political response, grounded in solidarity, resilience, and sustainable cooperation.  

Albania supports freedom of navigation, regional stability, open and secure trade routes, and coordinated international action through multilateral platforms such as MED9.

We remain committed to working closely with our partners to address shared challenges and strengthen collective resilience across the Mediterranean and beyond.
