Ambassador Canaj was received in a working meeting by the Rector of the University of Belgrade, Prof.Dr. Vladan Djokić. The meeting focused on the intensification of cooperation between the University of Belgrade and the State University of Tirana, the further growth of cooperative spaces with the Universities of Vlora and Shkodra, the continuity of mutual exchanges of students and lecturers, through the Erasmus program, etc.

Following the official request of the President of the Albanian National Council, Mr. Nevzat Lutfiu sent to the Rector Prof. Dr. Djokić at the beginning of this year, Ambassador Canaj requested the implementation of the proposal for the opening of the Chair of the Albanian Language in the Presheva Valley, as a constitutional right to help the Albanian minority of this region.

Rector Djokić was committed to start consultations with the Dean and the faculty of the Faculty of Philology, as well as with the lecturers and teachers of the Albanian language at this department of this Faculty, in order to concretize this project as soon as possible.
