Today in Belgrade, the European Day of Languages was celebrated, an event organized by European Union National Institutes for Culture in Serbia (EUNIC Serbia), as the main coordinator representing the network of cultural institutes and embassies in Serbia, in cooperation with the Council of Europe.
More than 1,000 students aged 12–18 took part in games and quizzes highlighting the importance of learning foreign languages and the cultural enrichment they bring.
The Albanian Language, represented by the Embassy of the Republic of Albania in Serbia, was, for the first time, an active part of this multilingual celebration.
Participating children received a “language passport,” which they filled with stamps collected at different stands, as well as a gift bag. Finally, participants had the opportunity to win gifts and prizes through raffles organized by the participating embassies and cultural institutes.
