Through the mediation and coordination of the Embassy of the Republic of Albania in Serbia, another initiative in support of the Albanian minority in the Presheva Valley was launched today in Tirana.
Minister Andis Salla and Mayor Ardita Sinani signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Republic of Albania and the Municipality of Presheva, aimed at strengthening cooperation in the field of agriculture and rural development, with a focus on:
– Developing and modernizing agricultural practices;
– Supporting farmers and enhancing technical and professional capacities;
– Cooperation in priority agricultural sub-sectors, such as crop production, livestock farming, beekeeping, and home- or artisan-level agro-food processing;
– Developing and supporting agricultural and rural investments;
– Strengthening the agro-food value chain;
– Drafting and implementing joint projects.
Through this memorandum, Albania seeks to provide more concrete support to the Albanian community of Presheva in agriculture, to promote the exchange of professional experience and knowledge, and to create opportunities for joint projects and access to European Union funds, thereby offering greater opportunities for local economic development and for the farmers in the area.
