At the invitation of the Catalan Council for the Movement for Europe, Ambassador Entela Gjika participated in the activity on the theme “European Parliament Elections and EU Enlargement”.

The ambassador also gave a speech on the progress that Albania has made towards European integration, presenting the attendees with the reform processes, Albania’s commitment to reforms and the extraordinary results that have been highlighted and accepted by the European Commission’s 2023 Progress Report, during the Presidency Spanish of the European Union.

European integration is a geostrategic and political objective of Albania, it is at the core of our internal and external policy. Albania’s priority is to advance faster towards full membership in the EU. The entire political spectrum and the majority of the Albanian population are in favor of the objective of Albania’s membership in the EU. According to polls, EU membership is supported by around 96% of our population.

In her speech, the Ambassador expressed her thanks for Spain’s continuous support for Albania’s integration into the Euro-Atlantic structures.
