Tirana, 8 September 2025 – The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, H.E. Mr. Igli Hasani, today welcomed in Tirana the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus, H.E. Mr. Constantinos Kombos, guest of honor at the Conference of Albanian Ambassadors #Diplo2025.
At the center of the discussion was Albania’s path towards European Union membership. Minister Hasani underlined that European integration is a national priority and emphasized the important role that Cyprus’s upcoming Presidency of the Council of the EU in the first half of 2026 will play:
“We look forward to deepening cooperation with Cyprus during its Presidency, a key moment to advance Albania’s integration process.”
The meeting also focused on strengthening bilateral relations, particularly in areas such as economy, tourism, energy, and trade links, as well as opportunities for joint projects of mutual interest.
Minister Kombos’s visit to Tirana marks a new step in the political cooperation between Albania and Cyprus, on the eve of the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
