After several meetings between the Albanian Ambassadors and the leaders of the Albanian schools in Switzerland, today (17.03.2024), in the premises of the Embassy of Kosovo in Bern, the merger agreement between the “Albanian School” in Switzerland and the League of Albanian Teachers and Parents “Naim” was signed. This big step, which comes with the initiative of the Embassy of the Republic of Albania in Bern, focuses on the preservation, protection and promotion of the Albanian language, starting with Albanian teachers and students in the Confederation of Switzerland, promising a brighter future for the new generations. Together, we will offer a broader educational platform, integrating teaching staff and increasing the number of students and the quality of learning.
The merger agreement was signed by the two heads of Albanian schools, Mr. Vaxhid Sjediu from “Shkolla Shqipe” and Mr. Liburn Mehmetaj from LAPSH in the presence of the Ambassador of RSH, Mr. Mustafa Nano, of RKS, Mr. Sami Ukelli , of RMV, Mr. Rexhep Demiri, Minister of Education of RKS, Mrs. Arbërie Nagavci, representatives of Albanian schools from the cantons, as well as Albanian school teachers. Firmsour and the three Ambassadors also support this union.
This is a good omen, as this year has been announced by the Ministry of Education and Sports of the Republic of Albania as the “Year of the Albanian Language” and the Embassy hopes that from the beginning of the 2024/2025 school year, all teachers and students will begin a new era for Albanian education in Switzerland.
