The Ambassador of RSH in Bern, Mr. Mustafa Nano, accompanied by Mr. Gjergji Hamiti, Director of Communication and External Relations, and Mrs. Nevila Bejleri, Director of Financial and Banking Services at the Albanian Post, held yesterday ( 30.04.2024) in Bern, a fruitful and constructive meeting with the General Director of the Universal Postal Union (UPU)*, Mr. Masahiko Metoki and the Deputy General Director, Mr. Marjan Oswald.
In this meeting, it was discussed the further promotion of cooperation between the Albanian Post and the UPU, the support of the efforts of the Albanian Government to modernize the postal sector through processes of digitization, innovation and capacity building, as well as further sectoral orientation towards climate action.
The RSH Embassy in Bern, in cooperation with the Albanian Post, is engaged in the bodies of International Institutions to increase its strategic weight as an actor with development potential in the regional postal market, e-commerce and financial services.
Ambassador Nano also presented an official invitation to Mr. Metoki to participate in the General Assembly of PostEurop, which will be held in Tirana next year.
*Established in 1874, the Universal Postal Union (UPU), based in Bern, is the second oldest international organization in the world. With 192 member countries, the UPU is one of the largest platforms for international cooperation and dialogue in the postal sector. As an entity of the United Nations Organization (UN), it helps to provide a wide universal network on updating products and services to its members. The Albanian Post has been a member of the UPU since 1922. This year the Union marks the 150th anniversary of its creation.
