The “Hora e Skënderbeu” association in Switzerland has taken the initiative to donate the statue of Skënderbeu to the Arbëresh people of Italy, and for this, on April 13, 2024, in Kriense, Lucerne, a concert was held with Albanian cultural-artistic groups. The motto “Skënderbeu unites us”, gathered in this activity 16 Albanian cultural and artistic groups operating in Switzerland. The Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo in Bern, Mustafa Nano, the First Secretary of the Embassy, ​​Valon Gashi, the Consul General of the Consulate of the Republic of Kosovo in Zurich, Vigan Berisha, as well as teachers and activists took part in this activity.

Ambassador Nano, in his welcoming speech, congratulating them for this initiative and ensuring the full support of the Embassy, ​​emphasized that above all, the fact that the Albanians of Switzerland remember to give a gift to Hora of Arbëresh, is not just a financial contribution, but it is an act of communication and cooperation between Albanians and this is exciting.

Despite the integration in the Swiss society, the Albanians in Switzerland preserve and promote their cultural identity by organizing cultural activities, traditional festivals, as well as maintaining ties with the Albanian community in other countries, as is the case here, with the Arbëresh people of Italy.
